Manchester Town Hall is a Grade I-listed Victorian Gothic building overlooking Albert Square in Manchester city centre. Designed by architect Alfred Waterhouse and officially opened in 1877, it is one of the city's most significant historic landmarks. The building has traditionally housed Manchester City Council and hosted civic ceremonies, official receptions and public events. Notable features include its clock tower, Great Hall and elaborate stonework celebrating Manchester's industrial heritage. The Town Hall is undergoing an extensive restoration as part of the Our Town Hall project, preserving its historic architecture while improving public access and facilities for future generations.
